How do I delete objects from the canvas?
Learn how to remove elements such as photos or text from your design.
Removing a single element from your design
If you wish to remove any element from the design canvas, simply follow the steps below:
- Click on the object you wish to remove.
- Press Delete on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can click the 'Delete' button on the sidebar.
Aside from using undo to retrieve your deleted item, this is a permanent deletion.
Deleting multiple objects at once
You can also remove multiple objects from the canvas at once. Here’s how:
- Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard while clicking on objects on the canvas to multi-select.
- Press the Delete key on your keyboard, or click the 'Delete' button (Trash icon) on the Actionbar.
Note – If you are in ‘Editing mode’ of a text box, pressing delete will remove the text/characters from within the box. Click off the text box to exit editing mode and then remove the text box by using either of the methods above.
If you delete the wrong element, you can always press Command + Z (Mac) or Control + Z (Windows), or press the ‘Undo’ button on the Actionbar (top right) to retrieve it.
If you're not entirely sure you want to permanently delete an item from your design canvas, you can use the Layers tab to 'hide' the object until you are sure.
