How to use Animated GIF stickers in your Easil Designs
Turn any static image into an MP4 [video file] by adding GIFs stickers from our elements library, or by adding/creating your own.
You can create a quick video format graphic up to 30 seconds long by:
- Using one of Easil's pre-designed animated graphic templates
- Adding 'Animation' elements to your design from the Elements tab
- Creating your own animated GIFs and adding to your design, or
- Upload animated GIF elements into Easil to use on your designs.
Using Easil's Pre-Designed Animated Graphic Templates
You can find animated templates in the social media graphics categories of the Easil Template catalog, eg Instagram [Square], Instagram Stories, etc. To edit a design, simply click on the image thumbnail and it will open in the Easil editor.
To view the animation, you can press the Play button located on the left side of the design.
You can adjust the duration of the animation loop by clicking on the ellipsis [...] and entering a new time, up to 30 seconds per design page.
You can edit your design as usual and can delete the animation by clicking on it, and then the Delete key on your keyboard, or by clicking on the trash can icon in the top action bar.

Your completed design will be downloaded as an MP4 file. This option is available to Plus and Edge subscribers, as well as the Plus 30-day trial.
Adding 'Animation' elements to your design from the Elements tab
You can add or swap out animation elements on your design via 'Animations', located in the Elements tab within the right sidebar.
Click to add, or drag across any animation to add, and then once it's placed on your design, you can arrange it as you would any other item on your design, including moving, changing the size, and rotation. Animation elements may also be placed into frames and shape masks.
Creating your own animated GIFs and adding to your Design
You can create your own animated GIFs and Stickers [GIFs with transparent background] using frame-by-frame animation techniques in Easil.

When you have created your GIFs, you can use the Export > Save to My Images functionality to save them directly into your Easil storage, and place them onto any of your designs!
Upload animated GIF elements into Easil to use on your designs
If you have animated GIF stickers that you have created in other applications or stickers that you have ownership of and want to use in Easil, you can upload them as per any other image upload. Simply drag and drop onto your design, upload into My Images, or even upload into your Brand Kit images if you want your entire team to have access to them.
